Growth

Your Trust In Us Has Paid Off

Much has happened in the last four years to our 2.94 square miles, not the least of which is that those square miles have grown with the annexation of the Olympia Fields Country Club (OFCC) in April of 2023. We have added more than 25 new tax paying businesses, significantly grown our tax revenue base, reduced our debt, “held the line on taxes”, built and/or approved 35 new homes, finished the implementation of new electronic water meter technologies that enable us to continue to “hold the line” on your water bills. We have implemented all new cloud based ERP systems designed to increase our productivity and reduce costs. The Board of Trustees just passed our third consecutive “Hold The Line Tax Levy”, initiated new $3+ million Village wide road and infrastructure projects while not increasing your taxes. This Administration has held the Village's General Fund budget to 85% of what it was 10 years ago. Your greatest investment, your home has increased in value and the median home value in Olympia Fields is now $360,000, an increase of 16.1% over what it was two years ago. The Village's finances have gone from near bankrupt to a positive cash position of over $20 million dollars, under this Administration.

Intelligent, conservative fiscal management and thoughtful planning have afforded the Village of Olympia Fields a certain amount of freedom to engage in a variety of projects that will benefit our residents. Not all communities are as fortunate. It is imperative that we continue to build on the solid foundation that we have created and continue to work together in community for the betterment of our Village, now and into the future. The stakes are far too high for us to take our foot off the gas, as the economy; inflation; and a shrinking work force loom large and pose unique challenges for small municipalities, such as ours.
